The project also hosts a lithium carbonate pilot plant located in the city of Salta which has produced 97.5% Lithium Carbonate through previous operation demonstrating the highly prospective nature of the brines and the Project.
First production of 8,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of LCE/LiOH is targeted for Half 2, 2019. Longer term expansion plans exist for production of 16,000tpa LCE/LiOH. Everlight has the intention to convert its final product to Lithium Hydroxide with the aim of most of the project output being Lithium Hydroxide.
A facility to produce 8,000tpa LCE/LiOH will be established at a current preliminary estimated cost of c~US$120 million with an approximate construction period of 2 years pursuant to vendor technical reports subject to revision. After completion to 8,000tpa capacity, the plant can be easily expanded to reach a production target of 16,000tpa LCE/LiOH towards the end of the third year of development, at an additional approximate cost of c~US$50 million.
