The Gallego Lithium Project is one of the world’s highest quality undeveloped lithium brine deposits with significant expansion potential located on the Salar de Hombre Muerto, in the Salta Province of Argentina.
The project also hosts a lithium carbonate pilot plant located in the city of Salta which has produced 97.5% Lithium Carbonate through previous operation demonstrating the highly prospective nature of the brines and the Project.
First production of 8,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of LCE is targeted for Half 2, 2019. Longer term expansion plans exist for production of 16,000tpa LCE. Everlight has the capability to convert its final product to Lithium Hydroxide as demand requires.
A facility to produce 8,000tpa LCE will be established at a current preliminary estimated cost of c~US$90 million with an approximate construction period of 2 years pursuant to vendor technical reports subject to revision. After completion to 8,000tpa capacity, the plant can be easily expanded to reach a production target of 16,000tpa LCE towards the end of the third year of development, at an additional approximate cost of c~US$30 million.
Everlight has held preliminary discussions with prospective providers of project funding and product off-take.
